Your My Documents Page

All the documents you upload to Scribd, purchase on Scribd, or add to your reading list can be accessed from your My Documents page.

Reach your My Documents page from anywhere on our site by placing your mouse cursor over your username in the upper right corner of the site. When you hover your mouse over your username, you'll see a popup menu with some handy shortcuts. Click My Documents to open your document list.

Your My Documents page initially shows all the documents you've uploaded to Scribd. You can select one of the options from the "Show" pulldown menu to show a different view:

  • All Documents—This is the tab you see when you first open the list; it shows all the documents you've uploaded to Scribd.
  • Public—This tab shows only your publicly viewable uploads.
  • Private—This tab shows only your private documents.
  • For Sale—This tab, which appears if you are a seller in the Scribd Store, shows only your documents that you've uploaded to sell.

Edit_Button.jpgYou can also reach a document's properties page while you're viewing it. Look for the Edit button near the document's title.

If you're viewing the document in HTML5 mode you'll find the Edit button near the top of the right column.

Editing Properties

You can edit many different settings on a document's properties page. After you've updated one or more properties, be sure to click the Save button to save your changes. At the top of the properties page you'll find fields where you can edit the document's title, description and tags.

The Settings Tab

The Settings tab includes many general properties, including the document's privacy status, category, default view mode, and more. Here you can also tell Scribd what language the document is written in; enable or disable downloading, printing, copying text, and comments. You can also set the license under which you want to offer your document; please see our help topic about copyrights and the Creative Commons for more information.

The Revisions Tab

The Revisions tab allows you to manage multiple revisions of a document. Revisions allow you to update the contents of a document on Scribd without affecting the document's other properties or statistics. If the document has no revisions, this tab will look like the illustration below. If you've uploaded one or more revisions already, you'll also be able to use this page to revert to a previous revision. For more information, please see our uploading guide.
